Dear Parents and Community Members,

The Jackson County School Board’s Transportation Department takes great pride in transporting your children to and from school safely. It is our number one goal each and every day. Due to the excessive amount of rain falling, many of our dirt and clay roads are unsafe to travel down in a school bus. The risk of sliding and slipping off the road is real. We will do our best to get your children home this afternoon, but tomorrow morning and afternoon we will only be able to pick students up on paved or milled roads. We will not be driving down dirt or clay roads. If your child or children are not able to be picked up because they live on a dirt or clay road and meeting a bus at a paved road is not an option, then your child’s or children’s absence will be excused. I do apologize for this inconvenience, but this is a precaution taken with the safety of children and drivers coming first.

Sincerely,

Rex M. Suggs
