Jackson County Education Foundation

The Jackson County Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in 2013. It enables Jackson County schools to access funding through a state grant program known as the School District Education Foundation Matching Grant Program. This program is overseen by the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations, which provides challenge grants to all 67 Florida counties to support educational priorities such as:

  • Support for students who are struggling

  • Career and technical education

  • Reading and literacy initiatives

  • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education

  • Teacher quality improvement

  • Increased graduation rates

The amount of funding available to each county is based on student enrollment in Pre-K through 12th grade. However, in order to receive these funds, each local foundation must raise matching dollars. The Jackson County Education Foundation meets this requirement through memberships, donations, and community fundraisers.

Once matching funds are secured, teachers may apply for mini grants to purchase classroom resources and tools. These applications are reviewed by a selection committee. Over the years, grants have supported a wide range of materials and equipment used in Pre-K–12 classrooms, as well as in Adult Education and Adults with Disabilities programs.

For the 2025–2026 school year, the Foundation awarded more than $50,000 directly to Jackson County Schools.
