MENTAL HEALTH
Jackson County Early Childhood Programs embrace a vision of mental wellness. Our objective is to build collaborative relationships among children, families, staff, mental health professionals, and the community. We provide services that support positive social and emotional growth for young children. Skills children learn in these early years will promote social success in school and in life.
DISABILITIES - PART B
Collaboration between Head Start and Exceptional Student Education resulted in inclusion opportunities for all children to learn from each other. Pre-K ESE, Head Start and VPK students interact together in daily activities such as: inside/outside centers, circle time, music, meals and field trips. All Early Childhood classes use the same curriculum and assissment. Head Start, Pre-K ESE and VPK staff plan together and attend training together.
DISABILITIES - PART C
Early Steps is the Florida early intervention system that offers services to infants and toddlers (birth to thirty six months) with significant delays or a condition likely to result in a developmental delay. Early Head Start and Early Steps work together to provide services to children and families.
